Government Vision Care Programs

Some patients receive vision care coverage through government-funded programs, which operate at the provincial or federal level and are not limited by municipality or region.

Blink Eyewear is located in Collingwood and assists eligible patients accessing government vision care programs in accordance with the applicable provincial or federal program requirements. While we serve patients from Simcoe County and the Southern Georgian Bay area, eligibility, coverage, and approvals are determined by the administering government program, not by location.

  • We assist eligible patients who receive vision care benefits through the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP). ODSP is a province-wide program, and coverage is determined by Ontario program guidelines, including preset allowances, eligibility criteria, and approval requirements.

    Patients may access ODSP vision benefits at Blink Eyewear regardless of where they reside in Ontario, provided eligibility requirements are met.

  • We assist eligible patients accessing vision care benefits through the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) program. NIHB is a federal program available to eligible First Nations and Inuit clients across Canada and is administered in accordance with federal guidelines.

    NIHB coverage may require prior approval and is not dependent on patient location.

While we make every reasonable effort to submit eligible claims on behalf of our patients, insurance providers may decline electronic submission, require additional documentation, or request that claims be submitted directly by the policyholder.

Coverage determinations and reimbursement decisions are made solely by the insurance provider. Any amounts not covered by the insurance plan remain the responsibility of the patient.
